Life group news.
Many thanks to those who helped one very needy family in the area. I think our Stop Six family was overwhelmed with your generosity. Not only of your items, but the extras that you added as well as the time you spent on a glorious day weather-wise that could have been spent with family and friends. I think that you showed a true spirit of community with the speed and abundance in gathering needed items for this family. I personally am very proud off all of you! I know that this family will sleep and eat a little better tonight. I wish like we all do that we can do more. Thanks again!

Life Group Study
We have a new “out of the box” study we can start this Saturday so bring your bibles! It is called Jesus Did It and it looks like it will be as fun as the others we have done. It is a six week course that will take us through the spring. If we continue to enjoy this format there is at least one more we can do. I can’t wait. Like the one previous, we will study some scripture on meeting nights and have our devotional but will not require reading or studying during the week. I know that most of us are doing other support groups or the Saturday groups and have plenty to do in addition to your normal bible study and answering the two questions a day and I certainly appreciate that.

5th Sunday 01/31/09
I checked the calendar at Seekers for 01/31 and it came up blank. We could go there if you want and hang out and drink lots of coffee, or if you prefer, come on out here and do a game night or something else fun. I promise lots of coffee as well but I won’t be charging $4.00 a cup. I believe in half price. We can talk about that this Saturday.

Reminder notes.
The men’s Conference will be March 6 and 7. If you Men haven’t gotten your wrist bands yet, get them. I think it would be great if all of the guys in our group will make a showing at the conference. It is only Friday and Saturday. We won’t be having Life Group that night due to the fact that ALL of our men will be at the conference and some of the women will be on the Thelma, Louise and her sister Louise Estrogen tour of the South.


Commentary
After experiencing the amazing outpouring of love shown by our group Sunday I have to just say WOW. I admit to you that I can be very cynical at times but you have truly inspired me. With the demonstration of the power of a tightly knit group of just good people striving to honestly be like Christ I admit a new found passion. I also admit a bit of selfishness when I say that I am very proud to be a part of your group. Thanks for motivating me.

Finally:
I have been trying to keep in touch with you via e-mail at least once a week and I thought I would try to add a little information to these e-mails via a newsletter format. Feel free to let me know if you like this format or not. Please be patient with me as I develop the format and try different ways to consolidate a lot of information that is going on with our “family” and the rest of the Church. I will try to use this as a clearing house of relative information for our group. I also ask for accountability as I am very good at starting projects and very bad at follow through. Please keep an eye on me and keep me focused.
